Hey gammydodger - interesting observation. I too like not having to touch. I always complain about the doors to public restrooms swinging inwards, towards the restroom - they should swing outwards, away, so I can open them without touching.

That's why I like the airblade - no touching. I can only imagine the one you found was mounted too high?

This type of hand dryer is found in public toilets in which my whole aim is to get in and out touching as little as possible (the movement sensors on faucets and flush mechanism suggests that this quirk is not mine alone). The problem with the Dyson airblade is that it is actually quite a challenge to dry your hands not actually touching the sidesof the machine, well for me at 5'7" it is a problem. And unless you're a 2D cartoon character, trying to dry your face with an airblade is also impossible. I'm not a fan - bring back the paper towel.

Comment on Status and Longevity by French Statistics

Longevity and hierarchy go hand in hand
French Statistics have monitored the birth rate in France, and are now encouraged, that in the last 25 years infant mortality has decreased by more than 5%, while the average life expectancy of people across France has increased by more than 6%, the reason explained for this turnaround is to a better way of life.

It’s a well know fact that years gone by the north south divide effected the longevity of peoples lives, people living in the north were likely to be poorer and sicker which would have had a big impact on life spans, where as people in the south had milder winters, making life a little easier this undauntedly would have increased the lifespan and longevity of the upper classes or hierarchy.

Hi Jeff,
I've been doing the same. Though their Facebook plug-in is really, really bad. It requires user-activated refresh, it has no customization and it doesn't add events to my personal event stream on Facebook when I've read a book. What surprises me is that they obviously don't "get" Facebook, or they wouldn't have let this situation be for so long. In the mean time, many other, far better Facebook book applications are gaining ground.

Regards,
Jon
